Standalone Battery Wiring
VoltDecode supports logging directly from a standalone Tesla Model S/X legacy battery pack.
This requires an adapter cable between the battery connector, an OBDLink adapter and an external 12 V supply.
Required hardware
- OBDLink LX or MX+ Bluetooth adapter
- External 12 V power supply or small 12 V battery
- Molex 0334721202 connector
- OBDII female connector
- 60 Ω resistor between CAN High and CAN Low
Wiring schematic
Connections
- OBDII pin 4 → Molex pin 8 → 12 V negative (GND)
- OBDII pin 16 → Molex pin 2 → 12 V positive
- OBDII pin 6 → Molex pin 10 (CAN High)
- OBDII pin 14 → Molex pin 9 (CAN Low)
- 60 Ω resistor between CAN High and CAN Low (value is not critical, 75 Ω also works fine)
